Roof rejuvenation in Porter and New Caney, TX

Newer house off the Grand Parkway or FM 1314? Your roof may be near the five-year mark, where Bright Green Roof says treatment can start. We’ll check it for free.

Your house is fairly new. The roof looks fine from the yard. So why would anybody bring up treating it?

Because shingles start drying out the day they go up. Asphalt holds oils that keep it bending, and heat cooks them out. Bush Intercontinental Airport logs 102.4 days a year at 90°F or hotter, on its 1991 to 2020 average. A young roof has the most to lose, and the most left to keep.

We’re C&D Roof Restoration, from Spring 77386. Our base sits near the Grand Parkway, and so does Porter. Porter is in New Caney ISD, home of Porter High School, with I-69/US 59 and FM 1314 running through. This page covers Porter and New Caney both.

Young roofs in a fast-growing county

Montgomery County grew by 30,011 people in the year to July 1, 2025, says the Census Bureau. Only three counties in the whole country added more. If your Porter or New Caney house is a new build, its roof is young too.

Young is when Bright Green Roof says to start, at the five-year mark. It can go on up to three times over a roof’s life. A shingle that still has its oils is easier to keep flexible than one that’s already dried out. Our page on treating a newer roof goes into why earlier beats later.

What we check on a five-to-ten-year-old roof

  • Loose grit. New shingles shed some granules at first. We look at how much is in the gutters and at the downspouts.
  • Flex. A shingle edge should bend, not snap.
  • Seal strips. Each shingle is glued to the one below by a strip of tar. We look for edges that have let go.
  • Nail pops. A nail backing out pushes up the shingle above it.
  • Pipe boots. The rubber collars around plumbing vents crack in the sun.

If your roof is too new to treat, Chris will tell you so, and tell you about when to call back. If something needs a roofer, like a popped nail or a cracked boot, he’ll point that out too, with photos.

Green siding and gray soffits

The roof isn’t the only thing the weather grows on. The shady side of a house goes green, and the soffits turn gray with mildew. We wash houses with a soft wash. That’s low pressure and a cleaning solution, then a rinse, so paint, mortar and window seals stay where they belong. It can happen on the same day as your roof visit.

From Spring to Porter and New Caney

It’s a run along the Grand Parkway for us. Call or text (281) 466-7436, or use the form, and we’ll set a day. Chris works from the roof or a ladder and photographs every slope. No one needs to come inside. You get the photos and a straight answer, even when the answer is “not yet.”

Farther south, toward Kingwood? See our Kingwood page. Back toward our base? That’s Spring. To see if your roof is ready for roof rejuvenation, book the free roof assessment.

Common questions

Does treating a newer roof affect my shingle warranty?

It depends on who made your shingles and which warranty you hold. You’ll find claims both ways online, and none of them link the actual document. So read yours, or send Chris a photo of it and he’ll go through it with you before anything happens. Bright Green Roof’s own 5-year transferable warranty covers the treated shingle staying flexible.

Do you come to New Caney, or only Porter?

Both. Porter and New Caney are on our list, and so is Kingwood to the south. We try to book roofs on this side of our map on the same day, so ask which day we’ll be out your way. The assessment is free in both towns, and you keep the photos.

Do I need to do anything before you come?

Not much. Tell us about gate codes or dogs in the yard. If you’re getting the house washed too, pull pots, chairs and grills away from the walls and close the windows. That’s about it. Nobody needs to come inside for the roof assessment, so you don’t have to tidy up for us.

The assessment is free. You get photos of your own roof and a straight answer, even if the answer is that it is fine.
