Your roof isn’t dead. It’s dried out.

An asphalt shingle is a mat soaked in asphalt, with granules pressed into the top. The Texas sun bakes the oil out, year after year, until the shingle shrinks, curls at the edges and sheds its granules into the gutter.

That’s the roof that gets a replacement quote. But the shingle is usually still sound. It’s just dry. The Bright Green Roof treatment is a plant-based oil that soaks into the shingle and puts flexibility back, so the roof keeps doing its job. C&D Roof Restoration is the Bright Green Roof dealer for South Montgomery County, based in Spring, Texas 77386.

  • Faded, dull color, especially on the south and west slopes
  • Granules collecting in the gutters and at the downspouts
  • Edges starting to lift or curl, but no leaks
  • A roof between five and twenty years old

That’s the roof we can help with. If yours is past that, here is how we tell, and we tell you for free. Read the seven signs a roof is aging.

Three steps, usually one visit

You see the photos before you pay for anything.

  1. Free roof assessment

Chris looks at the roof, photographs every slope and tells you what it needs. If it is fine, he says so.

  2. Clean, then treat

The roof is cleaned first. Then the treatment is sprayed on and soaks into the shingles. A typical roof takes a few hours once it is clean.

  3. The warranty, and the yearly look

You get Bright Green Roof’s written warranty. If you want a yearly look after that, the C&D Annual Roof Checkup is priced per visit.

The Straight Answer Promise

If your roof is not a candidate, Chris tells you, free, with the photos to prove it. If it’s fine, he says it’s fine. If it’s done, he says get replacement quotes. Nobody gets talked into anything on a ladder.

A Marine veteran and former police officer, working with his son

Chris watched homeowners he knew, including his own parents, get pushed into roof replacements they did not need.

After the Marine Corps and years in law enforcement, he wanted work he could do alongside his son, and a way to save people real money. C&D Roof Restoration opened in 2026 as the Bright Green Roof dealer for South Montgomery County. Chris does the assessment himself and sends you the photos himself. You deal with him, not a call center.

What Montgomery County does to a roof

Heat, sun, rain, wind and the occasional hailstorm. Here are the local numbers.

Questions people ask before they call

Short answers here, longer ones on the questions page.

(281) 466-7436

Call or text, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. You get Chris, not a call center.

What is roof rejuvenation?

A plant-based treatment sprayed onto an asphalt shingle roof that is drying out but not finished. It soaks into the shingle and restores flexibility. It is not a coating, not paint and not a repair. Chris cleans the roof first, treats it, and you get a written warranty. A typical roof takes a few hours once it is clean.

Will it work on my roof?

If your shingles are asphalt, roughly 5 to 20 years old, faded or shedding a few granules but still lying flat with no leaks, probably yes. If the roof leaks, shows bare mat, or has hail bruising across the slopes, no, and Chris will say so with photos. That is the Straight Answer Promise.

How much does it cost?

Chris charges $1.00 to $1.50 per square foot of roof, cleaning included, with the exact figure set after the free assessment. A typical 2,500 square foot roof lands between $2,500 and $3,750. A local roofer publishes $20,000 to $32,000 for most Woodlands replacements, so the treatment is a different decision entirely.

Will it stop a leak?

No. A leak is a flashing, pipe boot, valley or missing-shingle problem, and a treatment will not fix it. Chris points leaks out in the photos and tells you who to call. The treatment is for sound roofs that are drying out, usually between year five and year twenty.

Do I need Woodlands Township or HOA approval?

The Township’s Residential Development Standards require approval for roof replacement and list roof debris, gutters and algae as owner maintenance items. They don’t mention treatments. The treatment darkens faded shingles back toward their original color, so if you want a yes in writing first, call Covenant Administration at 281-210-3800. Other HOAs: check your covenants.

How long does it take?

One Bright Green Roof dealer quotes two to three hours to treat a typical roof once it is clean. With the cleaning, most homes are a single visit. Chris watches the forecast and does not spray into rain. The roof looks darker and richer right away and dries in over the following days.

The assessment is free. You get photos of your own roof and a straight answer, even if the answer is that it is fine.
