How long does the treatment take, and when can it rain?

You’re trying to picture the day itself. How long the crew is there, whether you need to be home, and what happens if rain shows up.

A typical roof takes a few hours, not days. We clean it first, then spray the treatment on, and we don’t spray when rain is on the way.

The spraying is the quick part. One Bright Green Roof dealer puts it at 2 to 3 hours to treat a typical roof. Size and pitch change that. A steep two-story with a lot of valleys takes longer than a low one-story ranch.

The order of the day

First, the cleaning

The treatment has to reach the shingle, not the dirt sitting on it. So every job starts with a soft wash roof cleaning: low pressure and a cleaning solution, then a rinse. We never pressure wash shingles, because pressure strips granules. Dirt adds time. A shaded roof under pines with heavy black streaks needs a longer wash.

Then, the treatment

Next we spray the treatment across the shingles. It’s 100% active, not mixed with water, and it soaks in rather than drying on top. How roof rejuvenation works walks through that part. As for the look, Bright Green Roof’s claim is that the shingle gets its original color back.

Rain, and how we plan around it

It rains a lot here. Bush Intercontinental averages 51.84 inches a year on the 1991 to 2020 normals. Conroe’s yearly average is 51.02 inches. So we don’t fight the weather. Chris watches the forecast, books a dry day and moves the date if the forecast turns. We won’t spray into rain.

Want to know how much dry weather the product needs after it goes on? Ask Chris when he books you. Your day gets planned around that answer.

It all starts with the free roof inspection. Chris photographs your roof, and after that visit you get the photos, your price and how long your job should run. The treatment day comes after you say yes. Call or text (281) 466-7436 to get on the calendar.

The assessment is free. You get photos of your own roof and a straight answer, even if the answer is that it is fine.

  • Free, and no obligation
  • Chris calls you back, not a call center
  • You keep the photos either way
